"On a Blue Night" is a small ink pen drawing with watercolor on heavy watercolor paper (5" x 8"). I have a small series going, using this fish and forest theme. It's a bit magical, a bit surreal. As always, when there are three of anything, it represents my two sisters and me.

"The Heart Knows what the Heart Wants"
(watercolor on paper, pulled around wooden stretcher); 10.5" x 10.5"

This little piece was 15" x 21". It's been drawn on, painted on, re-painted on, turned upside-down, turned downside up, and never seemed to quite work. I'm finally happy with it cropped and pulled around a stretcher. "The Heart Knows..." is at the National Association of Women Artists, New York, for their "Champagne Celebration Fundraiser." Hope it sells & helps a little with the fundraiser.

This little piece is created from a digital print of an original watercolor (sold) of a dove with digital pieces of other drawings and paintings in the background. The collage is mounted on a wooden cradled panel and protected with clear acrylic apoxy.

This is another artwork that started with pieces of paper stuck to the surface (collage) that I couldn't completely remove. "Trees of Many Colors" is created on an 8" x 8" wooden cradled panel. It started as an entirely different image that I painted and mounted to the panel. Not liking it, I ripped the image off of the panel, but I couldn't get all of the paper off of it.

"When Hearts Take Flight" (watercolor on paper, 7" x 10"). This little piece began as a series of wet-into-wet washes. After the washes dried, I looked for possible shapes or hints in the direction that I might want to take. That's when I saw the dove. I added shadows and forced shapes to come forward (hearts and ribbons) but left the dove basically the same soft shape. The color scheme is warm (oranges and reds) with blue accepts. "Horse of Gold" (watercolor on paper, 10" x 7"). In this piece, I'm playing with negatives even within the body of the horse. The image is not meant to be realistic. It's a symbol, a shape, representing the energy of a horse (an imaginary horse). The painting method includes wet-into-wet watercolor and wet on dry. The color is simplified because, as always in my work, drawing is foremost, color is secondary. This piece may be purchased on my website or by contacting me

"Before the Rain" (watercolor painting on 7" x 9" watercolor paper). This little piece is completely made up. It started as a few washes and worked itself into a rock wall and a landscape with cattle grazing in the distance.
